About

Following a degree in business management from Fredonia State University, Matthew Short took up a position as an operations manager for National Car Rental. Mr. Short was soon promoted to city manager, where he played an integral roll in the development and growth of the location. Driven by a new challenge, he migrated into the banking industry and joined the firm at American Home Loans, where he was quickly promoted to location manager, and soon became a franchise owner. As opportunity presented itself, Mr. Short and his business partners left American Home Loans and purchased a new franchise known as Novastar Home Mortgage. After spending more than 5 years growing the company to 3 locations and over 100+ employees, Mr. Short and his partners forecasted the changing economic times, and decided to open their own company in 2006. The new, privately owned firm was called Nickel City Funding, Inc. Today, Mr. Short serves as the Vice President and Owner of Nickel City Funding, Inc. The company is one of the largest mortgage brokers in Western New York, serving the entire state including the 5 boroughs. Matthew Short has more than 19 years of experience in business management, and he has spent the past 12 years in the banking industry. Mr. Short has been referenced in numerous national publications and is currently recognized as one of the Top 5 Mortgage Brokers in New York State.
